Photographs That Inspired Me
Today I want to travel back in time and share with you some of my old time favorite photographs of my kids, which also have been my primary inspiration in my photography journey since the very beginning.
In 2011, we purchased our very first DSLR camera. Up to that point, I only had experience with point and shoot type of cameras. It was easy, convenient and got the job done. However, it didn't really produced many photographs that inspired me to create wall arts or even frame for our home. So soon after we received this new camera, I gathered my family and went out for a family photoshoot at a nearby park. At the time, I had no clue how to use a DSLR, so Auto mode was my trusty friend. And I was pleasantly surprised by the sharp focus and vibrant colors it produced! That was when I knew I could never go back to use a point and shoot.
These photos were taken toward the end of the photoshoot. The kids were tired and started getting fussy so it was time to wrap things up and reward them with some sweet treats before heading home. They were happy to finally be able to sit down and enjoy their long-awaited lollipops. I saw an opportunity to get some candid shots and started clicking away with my camera. My husband was standing behind me, started to make silly sounds to draw their attention and make them laugh. I was so thrilled to be able to capture not only their bright smiles but the sweet moments of interaction in between:
They wanted to check out the flavor of the other person's lollipop.
Oops! The scrumptious treats were so delicious that she forgot to swallow, oh well.
On and off, They gleefully imitated each other and made silly sounds and faces.
These photographs really summarize their relationship as siblings. They are always so comfortable being around each other. They can be silly with each other. They make each other laugh. It is like every mom's dream to see her children love and care for each other.
They are my inspiration since the beginning and will continue to be for a very long time. Every time I photograph, I want to keep that in mind. Now, it is your turn. I will love to hear about your inspirations that motivate you to do what you love doing now. Comment below!
