K Family | Meadowlark Botanical Gardens

It's cherry blossom time! Instead of going downtown and trying to find the perfect spots among the busy crowd around the Tidal Basin in Washington D.C., the K family wisely opted for a quieter place yet still with plenty of gorgeous cherry blossom - Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna.

Due to the unpredictable spring weather, we had to reschedule a number of times. I really appreciate that the mom was very responsive and kept the communication going. By the time I finally met her in person for the first time, I felt like I already knew her. It was such a pleasure to spend a delightful afternoon with this wonderful couple and their three children.

Their oldest boy, Theo, was an avid reader. He brought his book and would squeeze in some reading time during our first part of the photoshoot. Cali, the middle child, was gentle and sweet and had the brightest smiles. Chloe, the youngest, was full of energy and always running ahead of everyone. When we stopped by the pond, where the colorful koi fish lived, all three of them were filled with joy and excitement. Well, maybe four including the dad. Lol.

I found out that before moving to Virginia three years ago, they enjoyed the delicious Korean and Chinese cuisine in Flushing, New York. Thankfully, they probably won't miss out too much since we have plenty of authentic asian restaurants here in Centreville, Virginia as well!

The parents recently celebrated their 15th anniversary. We just had to get some couple shots for them to remember the special day! Weren't they just so adorable together?! This year, the husband planned a date night at one of the popular paint night events. Love the idea!
