Baby Emma

This in-home newborn session took place the day before the Mother's Day. It was the perfect time for me to photograph the family to celebrate this gorgeous mom and her baby girl, Emma.

I had previously photographed this family back in Fall 2017, before the arrival of Emma. I remembered Emma's oldest brother was exhausted that day from a morning full of activities and was not too crazy about being photographed. But this time, he was so ready to smile for me and thrilled that he got to hold his baby sister. I was so happy to capture his gentleness and love toward his sister.

Throughout the session, every time we tried to settle Emma down for a pose she would object and preferred to stay close to her mom's chest. Not until the very end of our time together, she was fully awake and looked straight to the camera as if she was saying, "I am ready now." Then I was able to snap a few more adorable photos of her.

Motherhood is certainly not easy, in fact, it can be very challenging and confusing at times. But it is also the most rewarding experience. You get to nurture one or more little human beings and love them unconditionally. They are truly sweet blessings from above!
