D Family | Ben Brenman Park

D Family just celebrated Baby Joao's first birthday and they wanted to capture this special memory. Due to many rainy days, we had to reschedule several times but I am so glad that we waited. Because we ended up with not only the perfect weather but also the perfect location!

As we were planning for this sunrise session, a few locations were suggested. But the night before the shoot, we made the last minute change to meet at the Ben Brenman Park in Alexandria. It was closer for the family to get to and the whole park was very well maintained and beautiful.

Baby Joao was the star of the day. He wasn't too crazy about being waken up earlier than usual but he kept his cool through the session. He even gave me some of his handsome smiles when his dad held him up high in the air and was tickled by his mom in her arms. I was also very happy to capture some sweet candid moments. When he got a bit tired and decided to lay his head down on his mom's shoulder and the mother tenderly held and kissed his little hand. So precious.
